Last Friday the school’s six week cross-country program started with a bang. Year 3’s, 4’s, 5’s and 6’s have been divided into groups and will tackle 6 courses set by Mr Gibbon.  There is a beach track, a track through the pines, a track from the duck park, one along Walcliffe Rd, another track around town and the last track is running around the oval. This program encourages students to get outdoors and improve their fitness whether they run or walk.  Only 3 parent helpers came last Friday…  It would be preferable if we could improve this number as there are only 2 staff for each of the courses, which are around 2 to 2 1/2 kms long.  More helpers would be greatly appreciated by the teachers and it’s always great to see parents having a hands-on approach. All you have to do is arrive in the undercover area at 11.30 and then off you go on an adventure with your child.  You do not have to run if you do not want to.  Your role is to traffic manage and encourage students to do their best and enjoy the experience.  Each course is a different length so you will arrive back school at different times, but everyone is back for lunch… This program has amazing benefits for our – please get involved…………..
