As part MRPS Indonesian Language Studies, Ibu Janice and Ms Helen took eighteen students up to Perth last Friday, 17th August, to experience and celebrate Indonesian Independence Day (Hari Kemerdekaan) at the invitation of the Consulate of the Republic of Indonesia.Ms Helen drove the bus up to Perth. They departed at 5:30 a.m. on Friday morning, returning to school twelve hours later.
Independence Day is a significant day in Indonesia’s history and upon arrival at the Indonesian Consulate in Perth, students participated in the Independence Day ceremony, and a flag raising ceremony. (Upacara Bendera) The Consulate provided the children with a snack after the official ceremony,then they ate a traditional Indonesian Banquet at OSH5ONE- Bali Modern Cuisine Restaurant before their long trip home. You were great ambassadors for our school. 🙂
