Our class has been learning about the Light Spectrum and investigating the reflection, refraction and absorption of light waves. The materials we have used include stage lights, mirrors, various liquids and a variety of dense films.
We have linked our inquiry topic, “Jandamurra of the Kimberley at Tunnel Creek” into this scientific investigation. Students have worked collaboratively to design and build their own tunnels with the aim of reflecting and refracting light from one end to the other.
One of the requirements was that student construct these tunnels using recycled materials collected from home.
Students are eager to complete their tunnels and test them.
Mr Pearce, who is working as a Pre-service Teacher in T12, said:
Students have been really excited with each stage of the project. The investigation has given students a sense of presence as they learn about Jandmurra’s experience at Tunnel Creek as well as a sense of appreciation of the natural landscape.
