On Tuesday the 1st of June, the students from Year 5, Room 4 had an amazing experience dissecting one sheep’s brain each.

This term the students’ theme has been “How do I learn?” Through many interactive and interesting activities, students have learnt about brain parts, how to care for their brain and what their own learning style is so that they can learn how to best use their abilities.

The aim of the brain dissection was for students to see first hand the structural features of the brain. It consolidated all the learning which had been happening and is still happening in class. Students were very excited about the experience and enjoyed it immensely, even though some were quite queasy!

Amazing things go on in the brain and you were all able to have a look at the inside structure of this incredible organ! What kind of unusual features did people notice?
