Our kitchen garden is flourishing and every second Thursday afternoon freshly picked organic vegies are on sale at the garden site. You are welcome to purchase fresh vegies between 3.15 p.m. to 3.30 p.m. to support the garden project. Bagged produce costs approximately $2.00 each. All proceeds are used to maintain garden activities.
SCARECROWS FOR THE GARDEN: Classes have been challenged to enter the school scarecrow building contest. Entries need to be in by Wednesday 16 September. This has been promoted to all classes and we look forward to many creative entries. The winning classroom scarecrows will be ’employed’ full-time in the garden!
There’s a big harvest this week on Thursday from 3.10pm.
Produce includes: english spinach, silverbeet, red cabbage, rocket, parsley and a few lettuces. At only $2 a bag its a healthy steal!
Next week is Fruit n Veg Week with lots happening. Check out Monday’s newsletter for details. Students are also asked to participate in a healthy lunch promotion next Friday. Teachers will discuss this with their classes.
