Margaret River Primary School hosted some Indonesian guests this term, intent on forging closer links with the school’s staff.
Indonesian language teacher Janice Dunlop organised the visit of Pak Nyoman Riasa who is the National Program Director of Indonesian Language Studies and is based in Denpasur, Bali.
Mr Riasa was accompanied by his daughter Martina Yuliana Goris who is an administrative officer in the organisation he heads, as well as Lidia Afrilita who is an Indonesian language educational assistant currently working in the Bunbury region.
The group were at Margaret River Primary School looking to develop network schools interested in hosting and helping Indonesian teachers to both develop English language skills and their general teaching skills. Having hosted Indonesian teachers and students before at the school, Mr Riasa was keen for Margaret River Primary School to continue welcoming teachers.
After leaving Margaret River Mr Riasa was scheduled to deliver a paper at an Education Department conference in Perth and then fly home to Indonesia.
