There’s a new and very exciting garden project just inside the side entrance to our school. Standing beside the Kitchen Garden is our newly planted Indigenous Garden.
Angela Ramirez explains:
All of the indigenous students at MRPS have participated in the preparation, planting and designing of the bush foods garden. It is in the entry near the bike racks. We are in the process of completing our garden sculpture that will stand as a symbol of commitment to reconciliation and respect for culture.
We look forward to the fruits of our labour and will use some of the bush foods for cooking traditional Aboriginal foods for all to enjoy.
The garden was supported by our PALS Project and helped in its creation by Angela Ramirez (AIEO MRPS) working alongside Josh Whiteland (ALO) and Evyonne from Lamp. We look forward to the sculpture arriving.
So have a look and try to identify some of the plants when you bring your child to school one day.
