IF IT’S WEDNESDAY – IT MUST BE CHOIR!
Choir has started!
Years 3-6 are invited to come and join the choir. We meet every Wednesday in the Music room. You can bring your lunch and Ms Helen will chat about what you will be doing, while you eat. So, make sure you come to the Music Room with your lunch, and we usually end around 1:30pm to 1:40pm. If you would still like to join, you can add your name to the Choir list in the Music Room.
All you need is a sense of fun and a big smile. After a few weeks you will receive a contract if you’re still interested and agree to the team commitment. You will have lots of fun singing with a group, and your first performance will be the school ANZAC ceremony (early next term.)
Parents, if you are happy to allow access to the internet, we have started learning the following songs, which you can find on YouTube to practice: “The Last Anzac”, “I Am Australian” and “Wanjoo”.
OTHER NEWS FROM THE MUSIC ROOM…
- Bands have been formed and have started practising.
- Bella Melodias (a small select group of singers, usually chosen from Years 5/6) have started working with Andrea Manners, our talented WAPPA-trained vocalist. They will perform twice a year at Settlers Tavern, (as do the MRPS Rock bands). We are grateful to the owners of Settlers, Karen and Rob Gough, who are generous sponsors of the Music Program at MRPS.
- IMSS– All Year 5/6 IMSS Iessons have begun.
