On Monday 30th January, teachers from MRPS, Cowaramup, Karridale and Augusta Primary Schools attended a school development day presentation in our undercover area. Pamela Stewart (an Asia Literacy Consultant for the Department) in-serviced staff on the cross-curricular priority of Asia and Australia’s Engagement with Asia, and how to incorporate Asia Literacy into the curriculum.
Asia Literacy is one of the three cross-curriculum priorities included in the new National Curriculum which “have been identified as relevant to the lives of our students and address contemporary issues they face. They are: Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander history and cultures; Sustainability and Asia and Australia’s engagement with Asia.”
Staff enjoyed a delicious Thai lunch prepared by Joon Wholagan, a former MRPS parent.
