Monday morning’s junior assembly looked like no other day in the school calendar. The undercover area was teeming with curious creatures and a myriad of book characters who seemed to have just stepped out from the pages of our favourite stories. Staff and students entered into the spirit of the day, dressing up as their favourite character to celebrate the start of Book Week. In classrooms across the school people were ‘guessing the character’ as they greeted each other, and you can have a go too as you watch the slideshow below.
BOOK FAIR 2020
Book Fair was officially launched this morning (Wednesday) in the Library where Lee and Jenny have set up the books in a user-friendly design making browsing really easy. Students have been wandering around with wish lists in hand and it will continue to be open before and after school for the rest of this week. Funds raised through hosting this book fair go directly to the Library.
Lee Hughes said,
The support has been really good. We had a great turnout this morning, the first morning of Book Fair, and we’re really pleased. I’d also like to say thank you to those parents who have come along.
Student comments have included,
I like the way they’ve arranged the books, with similar books together. It’s easier to find what you want.
The prices are really good and there are lots of interesting extras like erasers, pencils and sharpener-erasers!
