For this morning’s assembly, T2 students went to a lot of trouble to dress in convict gear with ball and chain evident, white teeth shining in grime-smeared faces as they sat quietly watching the rest of the school file in to the strident tones of Icehouse singing Great Southern Land. It was a very fitting start as they told the story of their inquiry into early Australian history and the transportation of convicts, culminating in their recent excursion to Perth to see the Endeavour.
The highlight was listening to T2 singing all five verses of Botany Bay.
