The Karate World Cup was held in Queensland from 17 August to 20 August, at the Tallebudgera Sports Centre on the Gold Coast, with national and international teams competing. Margaret River had a fantastic turnout with nine families travelling over for the tournament. Five of those were from Margaret River Primary: Angus D, Alex B, Brodey D, Taj S and Zebe B.
All of the Margaret River team came back with an assortment of trophies and medals; everybody won something.
Ken Rouw was a very proud coach and he stayed with the boys at the Sports Centre for the tournament which was an amazing experience for them, sharing dorms and dining with competitors from all over the world.
The families then stayed for a few extra days for some Gold Coast theme park action as a wind down!
