At lunchtime today, students were entertained by the extraordinary talents of orchestral group, Deep Blue. What makes this group so different from other orchestras is: they don’t read music while performing but listen to their conductor through their headphones, so they can perform for the audience; they have a great sense of fun and interact with the audience; they play traditional and modern music and… they they can even play string instruments while dancing on stilts or riding a unicycle! They are a very special group indeed!
Deep Blue gave a free mini-concert in our undercover area at lunchtime and students responded enthusiastically. They will be performing (with smoke and coloured lights) for Arts Margaret River tomorrow evening at 8:00 p.m. They are also offering a Deep Blue Youth workshop for students after school tomorrow for $15 and participants will be able to perform one number on stage with Deep Blue in their evening concert. Cost for both to students will be $30 or youth price for the show is $15.
Listen to some of their music and see their special effects by linking to their website where you can see a video of them in action, or by watching this Youtube clip. They were incredibly popular when performing on Australia’s Got Talent, where some of you may have seen them.
